The Quiet Practice

Step away from the hustle and embrace the quiet power of Yin Yoga. This retreat targets the deep connective tissues—fascia, ligaments, and joints—through passive, long-held postures. It is the perfect antidote to stress, anxiety, and the continuous "doing" of modern life.

Daily guided Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra sessions.

Quick Jump

Most forms of yoga practiced today are "Yang"—they emphasize muscular movement, building heat, and rhythmic flow. Yin Yoga is the necessary counterbalance. By completely relaxing the muscles, we allow the stress of the posture to safely transfer to the deeper connective tissues (fascia) that wrap our muscles and joints.

Energetically, Yin Yoga is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The postures are designed to stimulate specific meridians (energy channels), removing blockages and harmonizing the flow of Chi (Prana) throughout the organs.

Yin Yoga asks you to find an appropriate edge, become still, and wait.

Time over Intensity

Postures are held passively for anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes. It is the duration of the hold, rather than the depth of the stretch, that creates lasting changes in the fascia.

The Use of Props

Bolsters, blankets, and blocks are generously used to bring the floor up to you. Props allow the muscles to completely disengage so the body feels safe enough to release.

The Rebound

The magic of Yin Yoga often happens *between* the poses. After a long hold, we gently transition into a neutral resting pose, known as the "Rebound."

  • Feel the flush of fluids re-hydrating the tissues.
  • Observe the energetic shifts (Chi/Prana) moving freely.
Restorative Pose

Yin is an incredibly accessible practice physically, but it can be surprisingly challenging mentally as you sit in stillness.

  • What to Wear: Because you are not generating internal heat, your body temperature will drop. Wear cozy, loose layers, and bring warm socks.
  • Mental Readiness: Prepare to face the fluctuations of the mind. Cultivating patience and self-compassion is just as important as the physical stretch.
Morning

Mindful Awakening

Gentle somatic movements and breathwork to wake the body, followed by a light Yin sequence targeting the upper body and spine.

Afternoon

Deep Yin & Meridians

Our primary 90-minute Yin practice, focused on a specific pair of meridians (e.g., Kidney/Urinary Bladder), combined with anatomy workshops.

Evening

Restorative & Yoga Nidra

Ultra-restorative practices using multiple props for zero gravity feeling, followed by guided Yogic Sleep (Yoga Nidra) to down-regulate the nervous system.

We will dive into the science of fascia and the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Learn how emotions map to different organs, how to track the meridian lines through your own body, and how skeletal variation means no two poses will ever look exactly the same on different people.
