The Universal Manual

The Bhagavad Gita is not just an ancient scripture; it is a profound psychological and spiritual treatise perfectly applicable to modern life. Set on the brink of a massive war, it represents the internal conflict we all face between our higher purpose and our lower ego. This retreat offers a deep, guided exploration of its 18 chapters.

What's Included:

6 Nights of serene, contemplative accommodation.
3 Sattvic, pure vegetarian meals daily.
Daily in-depth discourses (Satsang) on the 18 chapters.
Guided meditations and daily Sanskrit chanting.
Bhakti Yoga (devotional singing) and Karma Yoga practices.
A beautiful physical copy of the Bhagavad Gita for your personal study.

Quick Jump

The setting of the Bhagavad Gita is the battlefield of Kurukshetra. However, yogic masters have long taught that this battlefield is actually an allegory for the human mind. The blind King Dhritarashtra represents the ignorant ego, while Lord Krishna acts as the supreme charioteer—the inner voice of wisdom and divine consciousness.

Arjuna's collapse on the battlefield mirrors our own moments of doubt, anxiety, and depression when faced with life's hardest decisions. The Gita provides the exact steps to stand up and fight the battle of life with a steady mind.

Krishna does not offer a "one size fits all" solution. He offers three distinct paths to enlightenment based on human temperament:

Karma & Bhakti Yoga

Karma: The path of selfless action. Learning to act perfectly in the world without attachment to the results.
Bhakti: The path of devotion. Transforming all emotions into unconditional love and surrender to the divine.

Jnana & Dhyana Yoga

Jnana: The path of philosophical knowledge and intellect, cutting through the illusion of the material world (Maya).
Dhyana: The path of meditation and strict mental control, as outlined in Chapter 6.

Svadharma (Sacred Duty)

One of the central themes of the retreat is discovering your 'Svadharma'—your inherent nature and sacred duty in this lifetime. Krishna teaches that it is better to perform your own duty imperfectly than to perform another's duty perfectly.

  • Aligning your career and relationships with your soul's purpose.
  • Overcoming the fear of failure through detachment.
Spiritual Path

To truly grasp the Gita, one must approach it not as an academic textbook, but as a living dialogue.

  • Pre-reading: It is not required to read the Gita beforehand, but familiarity with the basic storyline of the Mahabharata will enrich your experience.
  • Mental Readiness: Come ready to question your current motivations. The Gita acts as a mirror, often reflecting uncomfortable truths about our attachments and ego-driven actions.
Morning

Chanting & Meditation

We start the day with the rhythmic chanting of selected Sanskrit Shlokas (verses), embedding the vibration of the text into the nervous system, followed by silent meditation.

Afternoon

Discourse (Satsang)

The core of the retreat. A master teacher will break down 2-3 chapters per day, explaining the profound philosophical concepts in accessible, modern terms.

Evening

Bhakti & Reflection

Interactive group discussions to explore how the day's chapters apply to your personal life, followed by Kirtan (devotional singing).

A major focus of our study track will be understanding the Three Gunas (qualities of nature) outlined in Chapter 14: Sattva (goodness/light), Rajas (passion/action), and Tamas (ignorance/inertia). You will learn how to analyze your diet, habits, and thoughts through the lens of the Gunas to elevate your consciousness.
