Awakening to the Source

Advaita translates to "not two." This uncompromising retreat strips away all spiritual concepts, techniques, and dogmas to focus entirely on the direct realization of your true nature. You are not the body, nor the mind, but the pure, formless awareness in which everything appears.

What's Included:

6 Nights of minimalist, distraction-free accommodation.
2 Light, Sattvic meals daily to keep the body transparent.
Daily Satsang (Truth Gathering) with master facilitators.
Extended periods of guided Atma Vichara (Self-Inquiry).
Intensive periods of Mouna (Noble Silence) to turn inward.
Group transfer from the local airport/station.

Quick Jump

All human suffering originates from a single, fundamental misunderstanding: the belief that "I am a separate individual." Advaita points out that this separate self (the ego) is merely a thought, a construct of the mind.

Rather than trying to improve, fix, or heal the ego, the Advaita approach is to investigate its very existence. When you look closely for the "I", it cannot be found. What remains is the vast, silent, ever-present reality of pure consciousness.

This retreat does not use elaborate postures, chanting, or visualizations. The work is entirely internal:

Atma Vichara ("Who am I?")

The core practice given by Sri Ramana Maharshi. Whenever a thought arises, you ask, "To whom does this thought arise?" The answer is "To me." You then ask, "Who am I?"—turning the mind's attention back onto its own source.

Resting in "I Am"

The core teaching of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. Before you are a person, a gender, or a profession, you simply *are*. The practice is to hold onto this pristine feeling of "I Am" before any concepts attach to it.

Satsang (Communion with Truth)

The ego thrives in isolation. Satsang is the gathering of sincere seekers to investigate the truth together. In these daily sessions, the teacher helps systematically dismantle the false beliefs the mind uses to keep you feeling separate.

  • Direct dialogue and rigorous Q&A with the facilitator.
  • Often triggers spontaneous shifts in perception (Satori).
Silent Meditation Session

The greatest barrier to this practice is spiritual pride. You must be willing to empty your cup completely.

  • Dropping the Seeker: Many come to spirituality to "improve" themselves. Advaita requires you to drop the desire for self-improvement and instead investigate the "self" that wants to improve.
  • Mouna (Silence): Outside of Satsang Q&A, this retreat is held in strict silence. This removes the social masks we wear and forces a profound confrontation with our own inner narrative.
Morning

The Still Mind

Wake in silence. Extended periods of unguided sitting meditation to observe the arising and falling of consciousness, followed by a light breakfast.

Afternoon

Satsang & Inquiry

The primary teaching block. The facilitator will guide the group through direct pointers, dismantling conceptual frameworks and opening the floor to rigorous questioning.

Evening

Resting in Awareness

A contemplative evening walk, a reading from an Advaita master text, and a final meditation to carry the recognition of the Self into sleep.

We will delve into the most radically non-dual texts in human history. Depending on the session, teachings will be drawn from the Ashtavakra Gita, the Ribhu Gita, or the transcripts of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj (I Am That). These texts offer no practices, only direct, uncompromising declarations of absolute Truth.
