Living in the Now

Grounded in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) and traditional Buddhist practices, this retreat teaches you how to anchor your attention in the present moment. Break the cycle of rumination and anxiety by observing your thoughts without judgment, fostering a profound sense of inner peace.

5 Nights of tranquil, minimalist accommodation.

Quick Jump

A common misconception about meditation is that you must "empty" your mind. Mindfulness is not about suppressing thoughts; it is about changing your relationship to them. By stepping back and observing the mind with curiosity rather than judgment, thoughts lose their power over your emotions.

Through consistent practice, we develop a "gap" between a stimulus and our reaction to it. In that gap lies our freedom to choose how we respond to the world, rather than acting on autopilot.

Mindfulness is practiced both on and off the cushion to ensure it integrates seamlessly into your real life:

Sitting Meditation

Formal practice using the breath or the body as an anchor. You will learn to notice when the mind wanders (which it will) and gently bring it back without frustration.

Walking & Eating

Informal practice applied to mundane actions. You will learn to eat slowly, noticing textures and flavors, and to walk with profound awareness of each shifting sensation in the feet.

Metta (Loving-Kindness)

Mindfulness without heart can become cold observation. Metta meditation is the systematic cultivation of compassion and goodwill—first toward oneself, then extending outward to loved ones, neutral parties, and eventually to all beings.

  • Softens the harsh inner critic.
  • Builds profound empathy and emotional resilience.
Loving Kindness Meditation

Mindfulness is simple, but it is not easy. Arrive with a beginner's mind.

  • Digital Detox: To truly observe the mind, we must remove constant external input. We strongly encourage checking your devices into our secure lockers for the duration of the retreat.
  • The Monkey Mind: Expect your mind to race, rebel, and get distracted. This is not failing; noticing that you are distracted *is* the moment of mindfulness. Bring patience.
Morning

Wakeful Presence

Gentle mindful stretching followed by a 45-minute guided sitting meditation. Breakfast is eaten in community silence to focus on sensory gratitude.

Afternoon

Active Mindfulness

Alternating sessions of walking meditation in nature and instructional workshops breaking down the neuroscience of stress and attention.

Evening

Compassion & Rest

Guided Metta (loving-kindness) meditation or Body Scan practices to systematically relax the nervous system before sleep.

A peaceful retreat is wonderful, but the true test of mindfulness is taking it home. We provide actionable frameworks for integrating mindfulness into your daily routine—how to be present during stressful work meetings, mindful communication in relationships, and setting boundaries with digital consumption.
